Samsung launches Smartphone GamePad Controller For Android Gaming [Photos]

Samsung has today announced the availability of its new GamePad controller in select European markets. The Samsung GamePad is a second-generation product that uses an entirely new design, stepping away from its Xbox controller inspired design roots and bringing a fresh new look to the table.

The smartphone accessory is intended to afford gamers the ability to take pleasure in “advanced console-quality games with their mobile devices at home and on-the-go”. Samsung has also introduced the accompanying Mobile Console app that works in conjunction with the GamePad to allow users to browse and purchase games that are compatible with the controller hardware. If you believe the Samsung propaganda machine, then owners of a compatible Samsung Galaxy device must expect to get  a “fun, convenient, and advanced gaming experience anytime, anywhere” after purchasing the GamePad.

With this new device, Samsung has selected an easy-to-carry design that is built around a long lasting steel frame. They have also paid attention to the design of the product to make sure compatibility with as lots of smartphones as possible and can now accept connections from hardware ranging from 4 to 6.3-inches in size.

The GamePad also includes an HDMI input that allows gamers to connect the whole setup directly to a high-definition TV set to take pleasure in the utmost mobile experience on the big screen. The option of connecting the GamePad to a Galaxy device using Bluetooth or NFC also exists.
